{"id":4344,"date":"2024-10-31T15:58:00","date_gmt":"2024-10-31T14:58:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nothing2hide.org\/en\/?p=4344"},"modified":"2025-03-04T16:02:26","modified_gmt":"2025-03-04T15:02:26","slug":"empowering-afghan-journalists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nothing2hide.org\/en\/2024\/10\/31\/empowering-afghan-journalists\/","title":{"rendered":"Empowering Afghan Journalists"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Starting on 31 October and for seven weeks, Nothing2Hide and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rfpi.eu\">Radio For Peace International<\/a> (RFPI) will be broadcasting a series of 14 episodes on digital security for Afghan journalists on short wave on the frequency 17860 kHz. Two episodes are broadcast each week: one on Thursday and one on Friday, from 7 to 7.15 pm in Farsi and from 7.15 to 7.30 pm in Pashto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All programmes are also available on the main podcast platforms, YouTube, Apple Podcast, Facebook, Spotify, Deezer, etc., as well as on the Nothing2Hide (<a href=\"https:\/\/nothing2hide.org\/fa\/category\/podcasts\/\">here in Farsi<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/nothing2hide.org\/ps\/category\/podcasts\/\">there in Pashto<\/a>) and RFPI websites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These broadcasts are an extension of an ambitious training programme launched by Nothing2Hide in Afghanistan at the beginning of the year. Between February and March 2024, we organised <a href=\"https:\/\/amo.af\/2024\/03\/02\/%D8%AA%D8%AF%D9%88%DB%8C%D8%B1-%D9%88%D8%B1%DA%A9%D8%B4%D8%A7%D9%BE-%D8%A7%D9%85%D9%86%DB%8C%D8%AA-%D8%B3%D8%A7%DB%8C%D8%A8%D8%B1%DB%8C-%D9%88%D9%85%D9%81%D8%A7%D9%87%DB%8C%D9%85-%D8%B1%D9%88%D8%B2\/\">five training sessions<\/a>, delivered remotely and in Farsi by one of our digital security experts. A total of 54 journalists were trained in data and communications protection, the majority of whom were women (33).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beyond the impact of the training itself and the digital security skills acquired by the participants, these courses have a highly symbolic significance.
