To do this, on Windows, install <a href=\"https:\/\/www.quickhash-gui.org\/\">Quick HASH<\/a>. This guarantees the integrity of the file, i.e. that nothing has been tampered with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"step2\">Step 2: Installing the image<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Install the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.com\/software\/\">Pi imager software<\/a> on your Windows computer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Insert the SD card into your computer&#8217;s card reader and launch the Pi imager software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"676\" height=\"449\" src=\"https:\/\/nothing2hide.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2024\/10\/image-10.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2793\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nothing2hide.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2024\/10\/image-10.png 676w, https:\/\/nothing2hide.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2024\/10\/image-10-300x199.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 676px) 100vw, 676px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Choose a model : raspberry 4<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose an OS : scroll down to the <em>Use Custom<\/em> menu (the last one at the bottom). In the menu that appears, find the <em>piguard.img<\/em> file that you previously downloaded to your computer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose the storage : select your SD card<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After selecting <em>Choose SdCard<\/em>, you should see your SD card appear. In this directory, place the configuration file supplied by Nothing2Hide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Windows, to be able to read the SD card once it has been burnt, you must either install the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.paragon-software.com\/home\/linuxfs-windows\/\">Linux File Systems for Windows<\/a> software <a href=\"https:\/\/www.paragon-software.com\/fr\/home\/linuxfs-windows\/#\">for Windows<\/a> or install the <a href=\"https:\/\/devblogs.microsoft.com\/commandline\/access-linux-filesystems-in-windows-and-wsl-2\/\">Linux sub-system<\/a> to access the SD card file system, which after installation is in Linux format (EXT4) rather than Windows format.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"step4\"><strong>Step 4: Inserting the card<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Insert the sdcard into the slot on the back of the raspberry Pi as shown in the image below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"474\" src=\"https:\/\/nothing2hide.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2024\/10\/image-8.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2752\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nothing2hide.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2024\/10\/image-8.png 600w, https:\/\/nothing2hide.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2024\/10\/image-8-300x237.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"step5\">Step 5: Connecting the Raspberry Pi<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Connect the Ethernet cable to your ASL\/Fibre Modem\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>or plug the 4G dongle into one of the raspberry pi&#8217;s USB ports<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Connect your Raspberry Pi to the mains\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>or plug your battery into the power port on your raspberry pi<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wait for the red LED to stop flashing. A new Wifi network called <em>Piguard<\/em> will appear.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now all you have to do is set up your devices to connect to the <em>Piguard<\/em> WiFi network using the password supplied by us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To test that your PiGuard is working properly when you first start it up, go to <a href=\"https:\/\/whatismyip.com\/\"><em>https:\/\/whatismyip.com<\/em><\/a> and check that your connection is located in another country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This guide explains how to install a Linux image on a raspberry card from a Windows or Linux system.
